this past year, alana hadid's razor-sharp intellect and compassion-centered commentary have been impossible to ignore, all while channeling 90s supermodel energy. in a world where many activists are shaped by their circumstances, it’s easy to overlook that they, too, have their own dreams. dreams that bring a bit more color into the world. naturally, we had to ask: do you want to be a model?

and so it begins. but unlike the 90s supers, known for their sharp edges and $10k get-out-of-bed price tags, alana’s currency is kindness. with a face that exudes serenity, sky-blue eyes that radiate warmth, and the poise of a girl born into a family of supermodels, fashion is in for a treat.

“i feel so empowered starting my modeling career in my 40s. it’s proof that there’s no wrong time to begin something new. at any age, you can show up as yourself, be authentic, and achieve incredible results. i feel more beautiful and confident at 41 than i ever did in my 20s or 30s. it’s amazing to be on this journey, especially with plastik, because it feels so true to who i am.”

"the most creative people who inspire me are my family. each member is incredibly talented, but my little brother stands out. anwar can do it all—he’s a musician, an artist, and a designer. he inspires every one of us daily. i have to say, he’s the most creative, the most inspiring, and, most importantly, he’s my brother."

"i didn’t ask gigi and bella for advice about my first cover, but we’re always sharing tips. before my first runway, gigi told me to keep my eyes open, put my shoulders back, and not forget little details like removing nail polish. we’re always supporting each other, and i know they’ll be excited about this cover."
